APC Senators remove Ali Ndume as Senate Leader

Senator Ali Ndume, the majority leader of the Nigerian senate, has been sacked by the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus in the upper chamber as its leader.

The caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Senate has named Senator Ahmed Lawan as the leader of the caucus.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki read a letter  from the caucus of the APC at the end of Tuesday's plenary.
 
Saraki said, "The APC caucus has written  to me announcing the change of leadership of the caucus. They have named Ahmed Lawan as the leader".

It was not clear whether Lawan is replacing Senator Ali Ndume (APC, Borno) who has been occupying the position of the Senate Majority Leader.

Contacted, Ndume said he was not aware of the situation.
